I am a scholar of Native American history. I specialize in the nineteenth century. Overall, my research interests lie in the intersections between Native American history and African American history.

I taught high school US history prior to arriving at Duke and have since served as a teaching assistant in six courses. In Spring 2023, I served as the instructor of record for The Civil War & Reconstruction: The United States, 1850-1880.

I am an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. I received my B.A. in History from Dartmouth College, where my research was awarded the Jonathan B. Rintels Prize for Best Honors Thesis in the Social Sciences. I am currently a PhD Candidate in History at Duke University and reside in Rochester, NY.
